Solar/Hand Crank Emergency Radio- Power goes out, batteries only last so long and a hand crank emergency radio can offer you news, a flashlight, cell phone charger, and a little peace of mind.
Lifestraw Family Water Purifier- This family Lifestraw water purifier will provide safe filtered water for a family of 4 for 3 years.
Emergency candles- Light is an important resource and it will be near the top of your needs in your home or shelter. Stock up on matches and your favorite long burning candles like these.
Fire starter-Beyond matches and a lighter you want to have a good tool on hand to help you start a fire. A fire starter is a great small item to include in your supplies and in your BOB.
Paracord- Good strong corded rope is useful for so many things, it can be used for; hunting, creating shelter, climbing, and more. Keep at least 1 rope minimum on hand for each member of the household.
Seed Vault- You can’t rely on stores, farmers markets, or people for your families food during hard times. The way to be sure everyone is fed long term and that the food is safe is to grow your own. A seed vault is a great thing to have on hand for long term food.
First Aid Kit- Small cuts can become a big problem if they are not tended to immediately. Avoid problems and keep a first aid kit or two in the house, in the car, and in your bug out bag.
Emergency Survival Blanket- You may not have electricity to keep you warm and even a fire only does so much. For extreme cold weather, these light thermal blankets reflect your body heat back to you and keep most of it contained.
Sewing Kit- While it may not seem like an important item for your prepper supplies a sewing kit can help you fashion shelter, repair clothes to keep them functional, and even in emergencies be useful for sutures. Like a first aid kit I would keep one on hand in the home, shelter, and even the car.
Food Supplies- Something like this bucket provides 30 days (2 meals per day) of nutrients that you will need to keep going.
Drinking Water Storage- Turn your bathtub into a 100-gallon holding tank for drinking water before the main line becomes contaminated.
Multi Tool– A good all around tool that doesn’t take up much space but has many functions is just what you need in the house, car, and in your BOB. You might not think of it ahead but when you need to take things apart, open a can or package, clip strings, or cut meat you will be glad to have several.
