Nothing works as a natural stress reliever as much as working in my garden does! I love digging through fresh soil and watching my little plants sprout up to greet me. But I also enjoy a good but simple craft project and these DIY Spoon Garden Markers are just that. You can pick up some wooden spoons at a yard sale, second hand store, or I have linked to an inexpensive set in the supply list below.
DIY Garden Markers
- Craft paint
- Paint brushes
- Wooden spoons
- Optional: clear sealant
Directions:
- Clean your wooden utensils well with warm, soapy water. This will help remove any dirt and debris so the paint adheres well. If you opt for new wooden spoons you can skip this step.
- Use craft paint to paint on the vegetables of your choice. Simple shapes such as circles and ovals are just about all you need. Apply the paint generously and in two to three coats so it stays.
- You can then use green paint to add accents such as stems and foliage. Just dab it on and allow it to dry.
Once the paint is dry you can use a clear sealant to protect the paint from the elements. This isn’t required it just offers another layer of protection.Your hand painted spoon garden markers are now ready to be used. Just press the end into the ground by the plant it corresponds with.
