No one likes looking at a boring garden. Most people garden because they love the variety of color their garden produces. Gardens are great for working hard and getting out in nature. So, stop having a boring garden and get your butt to work on these creative ways to add color to your garden.
Creative Ways to Add Color to Your Garden
Take care of that garden
Honestly, one of the best things you can do for your garden and its color is to take care of it. Trimming, picking, and reducing dead leaves and flowers can help create a more colorful garden. For every dead leaf you pick, several more colorful ones will pop up.
Add pops of color
You can really make your garden colorful by adding colorful plants, trees, and shrubs. The more colorful you want your garden, add those specific colors to it. For example, if you love red, stock up on red roses and carnations. If you’re growing fruits and veggies, plant strawberries and red peppers. Adding in a few Dogwood Trees from The Tree Center would look great in any garden and add a pop of color. The possibilities are totally endless.
Ask your local garden center
You wouldn’t believe how much knowledge your local garden center has on gardening. Have a question? Ask them! Don’t be shy about asking them what would make your garden the most colorful, in your specific climate. Your local nursery will know which ones will grow best in your area, so they will point you in the right direction.
Get the paint pot out
Another option is to paint some of the items that you have in your garden. You will be pleasantly surprised by how much nicer your shed will look if you paint it with a bright color. Adding pops of color will make your garden look fabulous. If you have a garden ornament that has seen better days, consider painting it rather than throwing it away. Also, you could simply leave it as it is and use a colored up-light to give it a new look and create a focal point for your garden, especially at night.Anything can be painted, even rocks. You just need to be sure to buy the right type of paint for the job!
Use color for decks and paved areas
Swapping your boring concrete garden slabs for something more modern and colorful is a really good way of brightening things up. If you have a wooden deck, consider using a color stain to change the way it looks.
Use creative lighting
These days, more of us are using our gardens and yards at night. Therefore, it is worth investing in good quality outdoor lighting. Doing so will make it a more user-friendly space, which should mean that you will spend more time out there. Consider buying LED lights for your garden. The cool thing about LED lights is that they can be bought in a range of colors.
All these different creative ways can help add color to garden. Neither of these steps are a lot of work, so why not give them a try?
